The Supience Information Check cannot independently establish whether a claim is true, certify a source, or determine that a decision is safe or appropriate.

What the indicator means

The indicator reflects observable characteristics of the text supplied to the tool, such as evidence-related signals, specificity, uncertainty and verifiability.

It is intended to help you decide whether information may deserve additional investigation.

What a high indicator does not mean

A high indicator does not mean that the information has been independently verified or that every claim in the text is accurate.

Well-written, specific or apparently well-supported information can still contain errors, outdated information, unsupported conclusions or misleading claims.

What a low indicator does not mean

A low indicator does not establish that the information is false, useless or deliberately misleading.

Some legitimate information may be brief, informal, highly technical, context-dependent or difficult to evaluate from text alone.

Not a fact-checking service

Supience does not independently verify individual claims against external sources.

The tool analyzes observable characteristics of the text you provide. It does not establish the factual truth of the underlying claims.

Sources and citations

If the text you submit contains citations, links or references, the presence of those references does not establish that they are genuine, current, authoritative or relevant.

Supience cannot independently determine from the submitted text alone whether a cited source actually supports the claim associated with it. Important citations should therefore be opened and checked independently.

AI-generated information

AI systems can produce information that sounds confident and convincing while containing factual errors, missing context, unsupported conclusions or outdated information.

Supience may help identify characteristics that justify further checking, but it does not independently determine whether an AI-generated answer is correct.

Automated analysis limitations

Supience uses automated analysis of text. Automated analysis cannot reliably understand every nuance of language, context, domain knowledge, source quality or real-world circumstances.

Results may therefore be incomplete or inappropriate for particular situations. Human judgment and independent verification remain important.

Not professional advice

Supience does not provide legal, financial, medical, investment, cybersecurity, safety or other professional advice.

If information could affect your health, finances, legal rights, security, employment, education or another significant matter, consult appropriate qualified professionals and authoritative sources.

High-consequence decisions

Do not use a Supience result as the sole basis for a decision involving significant personal, financial, medical, legal, safety or security consequences.

The more consequential the decision, the more important it is to verify the underlying information independently.
